Pier Luigi, a.k.a. “Gigi”, is a countryside policeman in Northeastern Italy. Gigi spends half of his days patrolling, the other half taking care of the garden he turned into his very own shelter and Eden. Yet, one day, in this apparently peaceful and untroubled area, Gigi discovers another dismembered body by the railway, a girl who killed herself.
On a hot summer day, Gigi’s investigation of the suicide wave turns into a journey through this strange provincial world, between reality and fantasy, armed with his instinct, obsessions and a heart always open to love and laughter as long as there are trees and plants around him.
After The Summer of Giacomo, winner of the Golden Leopard at the Locarno FilmFestival, Alessandro Comodin returns with a picaresque comic documentary.
